It is with heavy hearts that the family of Blair Joseph McCaskill announces his passing on Saturday, June 27, 2026. Born in Saint John, NB, he was the beloved son of the late Gerald & Genevieve (Nee. Guidry) McCaskill.
Blair was a simple man with a kind heart and a deep appreciation for the outdoors. He loved hunting, spending time at his hunting camp, fishing, and exploring the trails on his four-wheeler. He enjoyed working with his hands, whether tinkering with small engines, building as a skilled carpenter, or taking on electrical projects. He worked as a technician with NBTel for many years.
Family meant everything to him, and he never missed an opportunity to spend time with the people he loved. Friendly and easy to talk to, Blair could start a conversation with anyone and made friends wherever life took him. He took great pride in his truck and appreciated the little things in life. He was always willing to help others, often going above and beyond without expecting anything in return.
He leaves behind his son Dean; granddaughter Raven; great-grandson Rudy Joseph; and close friend Mike Beckwith.
Besides his parents, Blair was predeceased by his brother Lawrence and his niece Dorianne.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Rd, Saint John, NB, E2J 2G3; (506) 646-2424; Visitation will take place on Monday, July 6, 2026 from 12 pm – 2 pm.
