Beverley Ann (Whelan) Defazio

It is with heavy hearts that our family announces the passing of Beverley Ann (Whelan) Defazio, loving wife of the late Wayne Defazio, which occurred at Kingsway Care Centre on November 20, 2022, at the age of 74, following a lengthy battle with Alzheimer’s Disease.

Born in Halifax, Nova Scotia on August 23, 1948, she was a daughter of the late Roy and Marion (Hartlin) Whelan.

Bev lived a full life and enjoyed many vacations and travels over the years, especially to St. Andrews by-the-Sea. She worked as a Commissioner of Oath’s and spent many years as a volunteer at the Saint John Regional Hospital.

Bev loved to cook, enjoyed a good feed of Lobster and throughout her life, many hours were spent in the garden.

She is survived by her children; Dwayne (Laurie) Defazio and Tammy (Michael) Dempster, along with her brother Harold (Lynda) Whelan, sister Marion Vasiliou and sister in-law Ann Whelan.

Bev will also be remembered by her grandchildren; Kelsie, Morgan, Dylan, Mikaela, MacKenzie, Kayla, Kirk and Abby along with her great grandchildren; Marissa, Peyton and Dreden.

In addition to her husband and parents, Beverley is predeceased by her brother Roy Whelan.

Our family wishes to extend our heartfelt gratitude to the staff and volunteers of Kings Way Care Centre for the compassion and care shown towards Beverley throughout the last few years.

Resting at Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424) with visitation hours being held on Wednesday, November 23rd starting at 11 AM until the funeral service at 1:00PM in the Fundy Chapel. Interment to follow at Ocean View Memorial Gardens.
