Beverley Beyea Obituary

It is with great sadness, but also great gratitude for his long life, that the family of Murray “Bev” Beyea announce his death at the Saint John Regional Hospital on April 30th, 2026.  Born Nov 3rd,1942, at the Saint John General Hospital, he was the son of Murray Craft Beyea.

Bev is survived by his wife and best friend Peg (Hammond) of over 50 years; sons Jason Beyea (Joanna) and Michael Beyea (Alisa). In addition, he is survived by his son Justin (Kelly); his grandchildren Nigel, Isaac, Violet, Emerson and Celine; as well as Dylan and Morgan; lifelong friends Dorothy and Roland Ducas; brothers-in-law Howard Hammond, Bob Hammond (Tina), sisters-in-law Lorraine Vanier (Butch) and Helen Hannah; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.  Along with his father Murray, Bev was predeceased by his son Tony, sister Barb and many brothers and sisters-in-law.

Bev had great memories as a kid growing up with his sister Barb and the Beyea cousins. He worked at the Saint John General Hospital, followed by Vancouver General and then Saint John Regional Hospital as a nursing orderly for over 35 years. He mainly worked on 4C North and in the operating room at the SJRH. He was known for his kindness, humour and hard work ethic. In his spare time, Bev loved to paint landscapes and create various wood carvings. He also loved gardening and keeping his yard looking great.

Bev had so many happy times with Peg, Jason and Mike when they were growing up. With great anticipation, they always looked forward to their annual summer vacation to P.E.I. and frequent weekend adventures at Duck Pond. As the kids grew older and started their own branches of the family tree, Bev had many fond memories travelling to Ontario with Peg to spend wonderful times with Jason and Mike and their families. He was very proud of his sons and their accomplishments. He was thankful to see his grandchildren grow.

As per Bev’s wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. In lieu of gifts or flowers, donations in Bev’s memory may be made to the Saint John Regional Hospital Foundation, Loch Lomond Villa Foundation or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
