With heartfelt sadness, the family of Beatrice Ann Driscoll-Golding announces her peaceful passing on December 31, 2025, at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Jemseg, New Brunswick, on September 2, 1945, Beatrice was the beloved daughter of the late Frank and Frances (Vail) Hovey.
Beatrice was a strong and devoted woman whose greatest joy was her family. She loved deeply and cared selflessly for those around her. A faithful and active member of the Church of God, her faith was an important part of her life, and over the years she shared her devotion through writing several Gospel songs.
She cherished every moment spent with her grandchildren and looked forward to their visits. Beatrice enjoyed crafting and knitting, playing TV Bingo, and relaxing while watching television. In her earlier years, she was very independent and found joy in walking, baking, and spending quality time alongside her husband Ernest while working together in their body shop. She also held a special place in her heart for her feline companion, Lucy.
Beatrice will be lovingly remembered by her sons, Stacey Driscoll, Anthony Driscoll (Beth), Todd Driscoll (Chrissy), Wesley Driscoll (Terri), and Cory Driscoll (Kelly); her daughter, Tina Broderick; as well as her many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters, Madeline Hovey and Yvonne Smith (Bruce); her daughters-in-law, Linda Driscoll and Penny Woods; and her sister-in-law, Mary Hovey.
In addition to her parents, Beatrice was predeceased by her beloved husband, Ernest Driscoll; her sons, Douglas Driscoll and Cecil Driscoll; and daughter-in-law, Marilyn Bastarache.
The family finds comfort knowing that Beatrice will be cremated with her favourite green blanket, a cherished gift from her granddaughter Crystal.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (506-646-2424). Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 8, 2025, from 9:00–11:00 a.m., followed by a funeral service in the Fundy Chapel at 11:00 a.m. Interment will take place in the spring at Greenwood Cemetery, where Beatrice will be laid to rest alongside her husband Ernest.
Donations in Beatrice’s memory may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
