It is with sadness that the family announces the passing of Barry Francis McGrath, who passed away on Tuesday, July 28, 2026, at the Loch Lomond Villa Nursing Home.
Born in Saint John, New Brunswick, on July 1, 1954, he was a son of the late Francis and Mary (Jenkins) McGrath.
Barry is survived by his sisters, Margaret Small and Barbara Bannan, as well as several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his sisters, Alice Morrell and Dianne McGrath.
Barry dedicated more than 25 years of service to the City of Saint John, working within the Public Works and Parks & Recreation departments. He was passionate about giving back to his community, spending many years fundraising for numerous charitable organizations and volunteering his time at Romero House.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Fundy Funeral Home. In keeping with Barry's wishes, there will be no visitation or formal funeral service. A graveside service will be held at St. Joseph's Cemetery on a date to be announced.
For those who wish, memorial donations in Barry's memory may be made to Romero House or The Joshua Group.
