Ashly Mosher Obituary

With broken hearts, we announce the passing of our dear angel Ashly Kathleen Mosher at the age of 17. She was born on April 11, 2002 in Saint John, New Brunswick.

Ashly is survived by her loving mother, Stacy Mosher, grandmother Gayle ‘Meme’ Mosher, uncle Chad Mosher, great uncles; Raymond ‘Sonny’ (Carole) Thompson, Philip (Sue) Thompson, Paul ‘ Pauley Poo’ Thompson and Randy (Kelley) Thompson. She is also survived by her great aunt Lori Waller (Peter) and her cherished God parents; Todd Waller and Heather Scribner, as well as several cousins and Nick and Peter Georgoudis, who Ashly thought of as her own uncles.

She will be forever missed by her close friends; Caleb, Konnor, Thomas, Kiera, Loni, Aaron and Becky.

Ashly attended Saint John High School and was very smart.  She could read before she even started school.  She was an old soul and gravitated to her grandfather, Papa, to hang out with and loved to do whatever he did, particularly fishing.   Growing up Ashly developed a love for community hockey and ball hockey and played since the age of 7.

She was involved in many different groups and teams in her school including Rugby and Tech Crew.  She loved all animals and volunteered at the SPCA in her free time.  Ashly was very artistic, she shared a love of drawing, painting, sculpting and recently started woodworking.

She had a strong love of the outdoors, camping and spending her summers at Camp Medley.  She was a Beaver, a Cub and a Scout with Silver Falls United Church.  Scouting was a huge part of her life.   She liked to march to the beat of her own drum.  She was an active member of St. Mary and St. Bartholomew’s Anglican Church, attending Sunday school and youth group there and the choir, candlelight services and narrated their theatre productions.  She was very strong in her faith and carried her Bible around to gain strength when she needed it most.

Ashly was a firm believer in rooting for the underdog and always tried to help them up when she saw them being pushed down.  Unfortunately, in her middle school years the tables shifted and Ashly herself became that underdog. She felt so passionately that no one should ever feel bullied, so please remember that life is just a series of moments.  Some are good and some are bad and through those bad moments, please, if you see someone struggling, lift them up like Ashly would have.

She is predeceased by her grandfathers Eric Mosher and Walter Neal “Papa”,  great grandparents Kaye and Raymond Thompson, Nita and Stirling Mosher,

Ashly’s family will receive visitors at the Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road on Sunday, May 26th, 2019 from the hours of 2-4 & 6-8pm. A Celebration of Ashly’s life will be held on Monday, May 27th from the Fundy Funeral Home Chapel at 11 AM with interment to follow in Ocean View Memorial Gardens.
