It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Art Chiasson, who left us suddenly after a life lived with great love, laughter, and integrity. Born on May 28,1948 in Glace Bay, Nova Scotia. Art was a proud Cape Bretoner through and through.
Art was predeceased by his wife of 53 years, Cheryl, whom he adored beyond words, and by his parents, Art & Peg. The love he carried for Cheryl was a constant in his life—a love story marked by deep respect, shared laughter, and unwavering companionship.
A man of strong work ethic, Art believed in doing things the right way. Whether on the job or in his cherished gardens, he gave his all. He found joy and purpose in the simple act of tending to the earth and took pride in always leaving the land better than he found it.
Art had a big heart and an even bigger personality. He was the kind of man who would help anyone, and he never hesitated to share his opinions—always honest, often humorous, and never without passion. He loved his family fiercely, enjoyed nights out with live music, a good round of bingo with his buddy - and could often be found just enjoying a cold bottle of Keith's.
He leaves behind a legacy of kindness, strength, and warmth. Art is survived by his children, Rob (Leah) and Tawnya (Troy), his beloved grandchildren who brought him endless joy, and his siblings, who shared in a lifetime of memories.
He will be missed deeply by all who knew him, but his spirit—rooted in love, laughter, and loyalty—will live on in those whose lives he touched.
Raise a glass, share a story, plant something green—and remember Art with a smile.
