April Dawn Bourque

Our hearts are broken as we announce the passing of April Dawn Bourque which occurred suddenly on Thursday, April 13th, 2023. Born in Saint John, New Brunswick on January 7th, 1981, she was the daughter of Corrine (Rooney) and the late Edgar Bourque.

April was a free spirit, who lived each day not for herself, but for those around her. She was a cherished daughter, caring mother and loving grandmother. April loved to laugh, dance and spent time enjoying nature while taking long walks and searching for that next special waterfall.

A hairdresser by trade, April also cared for the needs of others as a homecare worker.

Along with her mother Corrine, she is survived by her loving children; Michael (Faith) Smith, Amber Smith and Chelsey Smith along with her adored grandchildren; Lyla Smith and Cole Clark. She is also remembered by her siblings; Ricky (Roxanne) Bourque, Sherry LaPierre and Nancy (Dennis) Fosmark along with several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

In addition to her father, April is predeceased by her sister Crystal Bourque, maternal grandparents; Margaret and John Vantassel and paternal grandparents; Doreen and Gerald Bourque.

Arrangements entrusted to Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424) with visitation hours taking place on Tuesday, April 18th between the hours of 2-4 and 6-8 PM. A celebration of life service will be held on Wednesday at 10:00 AM at the Fundy Chapel. A private family interment will be held at Cedar Hill Extension Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations towards the Coverdale Centre for Women would be greatly appreciated.
