Anne Elizabeth Amero (née Henderson) passed away peacefully on July 10, 2025, at the age of 85, leaving behind a legacy of love, strength, and generosity that touched everyone who knew her.
Anne was born in Sussex, New Brunswick, to Thomas Arnold Henderson and Alice Catherine Henderson (née Bradley). She was the fourth of five children and grew up in a warm and bustling household alongside her siblings Mary, Gerald, Walter, and John — all of whom, along with their spouses, predeceased her. The family moved to Saint John, NB, where they created a loving home that remained a gathering place for many years.
Her gifts were many: she was an exceptional cook and baker (her pies were legendary), a skilled knitter, seamstress, and a natural caregiver.
Anne’s life changed forever when she met the love of her life, David Amero — a handsome young man in uniform. They married and briefly lived in Newfoundland before returning to Saint John, where they started a family: Kelley-Anne, David Jr., and Jennifer.
In 1976, the family relocated to Edmonton, Alberta, joining David, who had moved there for work.
Anne leaves behind her loving children, her 4 cherished grandchildren Caitlyn, Connor, Sarah and Kyla, her many cousins, nieces and nephews.
A service will be held on July 17, 2025, at Park Place Funeral Home, 51 Broadway Blvd in Sherwood Park, Alberta at 2:00pm. The interment will take place at St Joseph Cemetery in Saint John, NB on July 21 at 11:00am. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Canadian Diabetes Society in honor of Anne’s lifelong spirit of giving.
