Ann Harned

It is with heartbreak and sadness that the family of Ann Harned announce her passing which occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Monday July 19, 2021. Born in Saint John, Ann was a daughter of the late William and Margaret (nee Kelly) Briggs. She is survived by her husband Edward A. Harned; her sister Marie Edison (Joe); her niece Beth Murphy (Ian); her nephew Chris Edison; her great-nephew Patryc Murphy; as well as several cousins and extended family members.  Ann had many friends and acquaintances:  life-long friend Elizabeth Bowers;  special friends:  Jean Moore, Shirley & Paul Martin, and Abel & Lana Leblanc.  Ann loved being with her friends; they would play Rummoli together, and enjoyed bowling together; Ann once got a certificate for High Score.  Ed and Ann loved going to dances at the Legion with their friends.  Over the years Ann worked for Irving Oil, Thorne’s, Dun & Bradstreet and Coates Distributors.  In addition to her parents, Ann was predeceased by her brother John Hicks, and several aunts, uncles and cousins.  The family would like to thank the staff of 4 A North for their care of Ann under trying circumstances.  Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John, NB (506) 646-2424.  A graveside service will be held on Wednesday July 28, 2021 at 1:00 PM in Greenwood Cemetery.  Donations to the Alzheimer’s Society would be appreciated by the family.  Online condolences are available at:  www.fundyfuneralhome.com
