Ann Gaidamasciuk Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Ann (Luce) (Sanford) Gaidamasciuk on November 11, 2025, at the Saint John Regional Hospital with her loving family by her side.  She was born in Cape Breton, NS, to the late Joseph and Annie (Poirier) Luce, and was the loving wife to her first husband, the late Murray Sanford, and for the last 47 years, to her late husband, Dennis Gaidamasciuk.

Ann was a born caregiver, and devoted her life to raising her kids, looking after the house, being a sound ear for her husband, and spending all the time she could with her family.  She and Dennis shared a love of dancing, spending 40 years never missing a dance and making a lot of lasting friendships over the years. She was a member of the 30Up club and the Legion, a homebody who loved to bake cookies called Bachelor Buttons, and meat pies. Ann was a great cook and really enjoyed hosting family meals, until it was time to pass the torch to her son Randy and his wife, Karen, to host the meals.  She never thought of herself and always worried about everyone else. You could never leave her without her saying “Call me and take care of yourself.”   She loved working in her home and looking after others.  Angels and butterflies made her happy and she decorated her house with figurines.  She was a great storyteller who often repeated the same story until she was sure you heard it.  She was a great mother, but she was meant to be a grandmother, and her grandchildren were everything to her.  She spoiled them as much as she could and never missed a moment to spend with them.  Ann was a lovely woman who will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her sons: Ron Sanford, Randy (Karen) Sanford, and Darren Sanford; her grandchildren: Bret (Andrea) and Tyler (Courtney), Derek (Gina) and Kristen (Nick), and Matthew (Caroline) and Joseph (Ty); great grandchildren: Logan and Lily, Luc, Brayden and Kai and Hudson and Lennox, and Noah and Thomas; brother, Cletis (Brenda) Luce; sister, Tilly Lirette; godson Steve (Peggy) Lirette; as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Along with her parents and spouses, she was predeceased by her sisters, Gladys Bonin and Theresa Cochrane, as well as her brother, Edward Luce.

Arrangements are entrusted to Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (506-646-2424), where visitation will be held on Monday, November 17, 2025, from 12-2pm with a funeral service to immediately follow at 2pm in the Fundy Funeral Home Chapel.  Interment will take place at a later date.  Donations in Ann’s memory made to the charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by her family.
