It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Anita Gertrude (Smith) LeBlanc, which occurred at the Loch Lomond Village on Monday, June 10th, 2024. Born on August 5th, 1939, in Saint John, she is the daughter of the late Clarence and Wilhelmina (Peacock) Smith. Anita worked as a Registered Nurse and Nursing Administrator at both the Saint John General and Regional Hospital. She was actively involved in the community with Guild and the VON. In her retirement, she loved learning new crafts, especially fabric arts and quilting, knitting and embroidery. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Anita is survived by her daughters Brenda Kyle (Danny) of Kings Co., NB, Wendy Northcott (Dean) of Airdrie, AB; sisters June Cummings of Ontario, Judy Jackson of Arizona, Carol Short of Saint John; grandchildren Jeremy Dunn, Stephen Dunn, Matthew MacDonald, Kyle MacDonald and Colin MacDonald; great grandchildren Brodie, Bentley, Aubrey Mae, Isla, Taylor, Dominick, Carter, Braylee, Lyla, Ivy, Violet and Lily; as well as nieces, nephews and friends.
Along with her parents, Anita was predeceased by her husband Albeni.
Arrangements are under the direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (506-646-2424). There will be a celebration of life on August 11, 2024 from 2pm-4pm at the Fundy Funeral Home reception room. Donations in memory of Anita may be made to Upham Parish or to the Canadian Cancer Society.
