It is with profound sadness and very heavy hearts that our family announces the passing of Anastasia (“Tasha”) Georgina Elisseou, who died peacefully in her sleep on May 23, 2026 at Parkland Saint John after a difficult battle with Parkinson’s.
Anastasia was born on December 7th, 1971 in Saint John to George Elisseou and Diana (Mills) Elisseou. She was raised locally, graduating from Saint John Regional High School. She spent her 20s moving around New Brunswick, Ontario, and even California before settling back in Saint John to raise her two children.
Anastasia was an incredibly proud woman. Proud of her successful career in IT, her Greek heritage, her faith, and of course her family.
She had many close friends from all walks of life that describe her as brave, independent, and confident.
Anastasia loved hosting big meals for her family, reading (she would spend many weekends curled up reading for hours on end), movie nights at home, long drives with coffee, Saturdays spent finding yard sales, and going to Church.
She loved giving back to her community, volunteering and planning fundraisers while playing an active role in the Philoptochos Society at St Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church.
Anastasia is survived by her two children whom she loved more than anything in this world: daughter Amber (Oli) and son Yurgos (Jade), as well as her grandson Tate; her mother Diana; siblings Anna (Dimitri), Kenneth, Thomas, and Stefanos (Tamara); and nieces and nephews Tina, Angela, George, Athena, and Meredyth. She is predeceased by her father George and brother Manoli.
Anastasia is resting at Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road. Family and friends will be received on Friday, May 29th from 2-4 and 6-8 PM. A Funeral Service will be held at the same location on Saturday, May 30th at 9:30 AM. Interment to follow at Fernhill Cemetery. A reception will take place after the service.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Memory of Anastasia may be made to Hestia House.
