It is with heavy hearts that the family of Allen Bernier announces his passing on March 27th, 2026, at the Saint John Regional Hospital after a long term battle with cancer. Allen was born in Saint John to the late Helen and Anthony (Tony) Bernier.
Allen was a avid fisherman and hunter. He was a truck driver and mechanic for dutchman's of Grand Manan for 20 years and continued to tinker with any machinery throughout his life. Allen would help anyone, anywhere. He and Cindy even once saved a baby from a car accident.
Allen will be deeply missed by his family; he leaves behind his wife Cindy, his sons Allen and Tony. He is also survived by his brothers Stephen and Paul of Saint John, along with his sisters Gennie (Saint John), Cecilia (Ontario), and Annette (Saint John). He was a beloved grandfather to Maya and Landon. Allen goes to meet his parents Helen and Anthony; as well as his siblings Eddy and Freda.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Fundy Funeral Home. Family and Friends will be received on Wednesday, April 1st, 2026, from 12-2pm. A funeral service will follow in the Chapel at 2:00 pm. Interment at Oceanview Memorial Gardens will take place at a later date.
