It is with sadness the family of Allan MacNeil announce his passing which occurred at home on Sunday August 11, 2019. Born in April of 1932 he was the son of the late Roderick and Annie (Anderson) MacNeil. Bing as most people knew him was a Firefighter and worked for the City of Saint John for many years retiring from Station #2 in December of 1994. He was a man who was full of life, master story teller and enjoyed harness racing. Bing is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Barbara (Nordstrom) MacNeil; children Michael (Colleen) of Sussex, Susan Cogswell (Gary) and Bob (Bettina) both of Saint John; special granddaughter Jessica and her husband Kenny, who lovingly cared for Grampie Bing, ;8 precious grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; brothers Donald (Barbara) of Saint John and Clyde of Sussex; brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and friends. Along with his parents, Bing was predeceased by his sisters Alice Fisher and Bertha Carey.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424) where visitation will be held on Wednesday August 14th from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. A private family interment will be held at a later date. Donations in Bing’s memory can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
