Alice Maureen Johnson

With hearts full of both gratitude and sorrow, we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, Alice Maureen (Tiggy)  (Donovan) Johnson. After a brief illness, Alice passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 5, 2026, at the Saint John Regional Hospital, surrounded by the love of her family. She had been residing at Shannex – Parkland in the Valley where she made many new friends and reconnected  many old friends. Born in Saint John, New Brunswick, she was the cherished daughter of the late Morris L. Donovan and Pearl (Slovitt) Donovan. 

Alice was predeceased by her beloved husband, Edward Earl Johnson, in 1999 — a loss she carried with grace while continuing to fill the lives around her with love and generosity.  Alice is lovingly remembered by her daughter, Barbara Lynn Hopkins (Andrew) of Hampton; her two adored granddaughters, Jennifer and Sarah Dawn (Stephen); and by the absolute pride and joy of her life, her great-grandchildren Max, Barret, Isaac, Jaxon,  Keith and Rose whom all brought endless happiness to her days. She is also survived by her sister, Lauren (Joe) Bouchard of New Maryland, as well as several nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.  In addition to her husband, Alice was predeceased by her sister Barbara (Barb) Boucher and her brothers Peter Donovan (Pete), Arnold Donovan (Arnie), and William Donovan (Billy).

The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to the entire team on 5CN and the Palliative Care Team at the Saint John Regional Hospital for the compassion, care, and kindness shown to Alice and her family during her final days.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care and direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John, NB (506-646-2424).  Family and friends are invited to join together in remembrance for a Funeral Service held on Tuesday, May 12, 2026 @ 10 AM at the Fundy Funeral Home Chapel. Interment Fernhill Cemetery. For those that wish, memorial donations to a charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated.
