Alec Gordon Tays

It is with heavy hearts, the family of Alec Gordon Tays announce his unexpected passing on May 22nd, 2023.  Alec was born July 11th, 1992 in Saint John, NB to Gordon Tays and the late Pauline Morin.

Alec is predeceased by his mother, Pauline Morin; grandmother, Glenna Tays; grandfather, Gordon Tays; grandparents: Rino & Claudette Morin & close cousin, Nolan Leblanc.

Alec leaves behind his beloved son, William Tays; partner, Madison Verner; & father Gordon. Additionally, his godparents: Kent & Abbie Tays and many loving aunts & uncles. Alec, an only child, also leaves behind many cousins with whom he’d developed special bonds with, sharing a lifetime of wonderful memories. 

Alec was a proud father; he truly adored his son. His open expression of love for him was real, wanting to always be better and do better for William.  Together, they enjoyed walking the trail at “The Rez”; these happy memories are what William will cherish most. 

Alec will be remembered for his goofy sense of humour, bright smile, and contagious laugh.  He often lit up a room he walked into. He was known for his appreciation for time spent in nature, enjoying simple things, and often could be found at the Tays special meeting place – “The Duck Pond”.  

Alec will be remembered for his strength and courage during his difficult times. Addiction and mental illness are incredibly difficult to understand. If you need help, please seek assistance. 

Arrangements are entrusted to Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John, NB (506-646-2424).  Visitation will be held on Monday May 29, 2023 from 2-4 & 6-8 pm.  The funeral service will be held on Tuesday May 30, 2023 at 2:00 pm in the funeral home chapel.
