It is with sadness the family announces the peaceful passing of Agnes, surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday April 21, 2021. Born in Saint John April 14, 1942; daughter of the late Percy and Mary (Brown) Leslie.
Agnes was a respected Taxi Dispatcher working for various companies throughout the years. Always active in her community, she was a member of the Women’s Auxiliary of the Black Community (WABC) and original volunteer and Board member of Romero House.
Agnes is survived by her children Laurie Gardner (H. Rasheed), Kimberley Hughes (Charles) and Mark Anthony “Tony” Jefferson; brothers Stephen, Lawrence “Larry” and Allison “Reid”; sisters Elizabeth Amazine Scott, Judith Anne Leslie and Jean MacKenzie; step daughter Diane Couillard and family; sister in law Patsy Pugh; grandchildren Jeremy (Katherine), Kendra (Aaron), Celena, (Steven) Vashti, Sabra (Alexander), Shelby and Sadie; numerous great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and life long friend Sylvia Seales. Along with her parents, Agnes was predeceased by her husband James C. Roche and loving companion Real Couillard; daughter Kathy ; brothers Barry, Frank and Percy; brothers-in-law Andrew MacKenzie, Charles Moore and Henry Scott; and nephew Robb Costello.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424). Interment will be held at Ocean View Memorial Gardens on October 15, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. All are welcome.
