It is with great sadness the family of Abbie May Brown (Mason), widow of Ronald Charles Brown, announce her passing at the Loch Lomond Village, Saint John N.B., on October 28, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Saint John on July 23, 1942, she was the daughter of the late Alan & Edna Mason (Dobson).
Abbie is survived by her daughter Dianne Jones (David) of Caledonia, Ontario and her son Donnie Brown (Laura) of Quispamsis. Grandchildren Bradley, Jillian, Michael & Mitchel. Great grandchildren MacKenzie, Ellie, Holly, Veronica, Will & Ella. She is also survived by her brothers Gene (late Hilda), Gary, (Kevin) & sister Dianne “Honey” Summerville (late Jim) and several nieces & nephews. Besides her parents she was predeceased by brothers Joe & Jack, sisters Lorna, June & Muriel.
Abbie graduated from Saint John High School and was employed as Personnel Manager Kmart West Saint John for many years then worked as Office Manager at Tractors & Equipment, Saint John, from where she retired.
Abbie & Ron spent many summers trailering at Pine Cone in Sussex, along with her sisters June & Muriel & families. Those summers formed many lifelong friendships & wonderful memories. Abbie was a kind & generous person. She loved people & if there was anyone who needed a helping hand or a delicious meal she would provide with a loving heart. She loved family gatherings and quality time spent with her grandchildren.
The family would like to acknowledge & thank the Loch Lomond Village staff & families (Cedar & Maple House) for their exemplary care & kindness they showed to both Abbie & her family over the past 6+ years. Their time in our lives will never be forgotten.
Resting at Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Rd., Saint John, N.B. Visitation will take place on Saturday, November 1, 2025, from 10am - 12pm; followed by a Funeral Service at 12pm in the Fundy Funeral Home Chapel. A reception to follow immediately after the service. Interment will be held at the Greenwood Cemetery, 1380 Sand Cove Road, Saint John, on Monday, November 3, 2025, at 10AM. Donations can be directed to the Loch Lomond Villa Foundation, the Alzheimer's Society of New Brunswick, or the charity of your choice.
