Zelda Harding Keirstead

It is with great sadness that we the family announce the death of Zelda Harding (Moran) Keirstead, who passed away with family at her side at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Wednesday, October 4, 2017. Zelda was born in St. Martins, on November 25, 1928 to the late Arthur and Laura (Hopey) Moran. Devoted and loving wife to Hazen.  Loving mother to Joseph (Alison), Suzan (Royden), Bonny (Craig), Lora (Shawn) and Marc (Kim).  Cherished grandmother to MaryAlice, Cory, Josh, Bobby, Becky, Eric, Gabrielle, Emily and Ethan; and lovingly remembered by five great grandchildren; sisters Lorraine Finley (Gill), Catherine Allaby (Ernie) and Vonna Greer (Charlie); brother Byard Moran (Linda) and brother-in-law George “Nick” Nickerson. Zelda was predeceased by her parents, sister Gwen Nickerson and son-in-law Royden McKillop.
She and Hazen married on December 24, 1952 and just missed their 65th wedding anniversary by a few months.  Mom retired many years ago as a nurse (RN) and little did we know how important her love for us and experience as a care giver would be.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424).  A graveside service will be held at Kirkhill Cemetery (5 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, Kings County, NB) on Wednesday October 11th, 2017 at 3:00p.m.  In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory can be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.   To send a message of condolence, please visit www.fundyfuneralhome.com
