It is with heavy hearts, but much gratitude for a life well-lived, that the family of William “Bill” John Brennan, loving husband Elaine Brennan (Brophy), announce his passing on Monday, June 4, 2018 which occurred at his residence with his family by his side. Born April 29, 1947, he was the son of the late Vincent and Mary (Murphy) Brennan of Newfoundland.
Bill worked for the City of Saint John for 20 years, and could be classed as a ‘Jack of all Trades.’ He was very handy, even learning to fly an airplane. He was very friendly, and loved to read and tell Newfie jokes. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, and he devoted himself to his church. He was very dedicated to his church and his faith. Bill was known for his willingness to help anyone he could. When he became a grandfather or Poppy as he was known by his grandchildren, he felt fulfilled. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him, and Poppy will never be forgotten by Jayden and Cohen.
Along with his wife, he is survived by his daughter Pamela Gottschalk (Jeff), sons; Jeff (Krista) and James (Christine), grandchildren; Gracie, Jacob, Cohen and Jayden, sister Ann Shannon and brothers Harold and Reg, along with several nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
Arrangements are entrusted to the Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424) where visitation will be held on Wednesday from 2-4 & 6-8pm. A funeral service will be held from the Torch for Truth (1454 Manawagonish Road) on Thursday June 7, 2018 at 1PM. In lieu of flowers,
