William Ralph Nice

The death of William Ralph Nice, husband of Carol (Silliphant) Nice for 56 years, occurred at his residence on August 29, 2019.  Born in Saint John on February 8, 1941, he was the son of the late Ralph R. and Beatrice (Elliott) Nice.

He was a hard working man having been a member of the ILA Local #273.   He had a great love for  the outdoors and his time hunting and fishing.  He played baseball and hockey in his younger years.  He enjoyed his many trips to Newfoundland.  His greatest passion was watching his grandchildren play their many sports.

Besides his wife Carol, he is survived by his sons; Frank (Laura Lee) of Prince of Wales, Dwayne (Linda) of Saint John West, Rick (Jennifer) of Musquash, and Chris (Angie) of Musquash; his brothers Frank Nice (Sharon) of Musquash and Fred Nice (Shirley) of Saint John West; his sisters Joan Meating of Saint John West and Verna Hooper of Back Bay; his brother-in-law David Silliphant (Dianne); sisters-in-law Donna Legge (Bob) and Sharon McDonald (Gary); his grandchildren Meagan, Bradley, Jenna, Julie, Kyle, Katelynn, Noel and Wyatt; his great-grandchildren Maddox, Maclean and Manning; along with several cousins, nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his sister-in-law Frances Nice, brothers-in-law Bob Bradley, Harvey Hooper and Kenneth Meating, and his nephew Dale Hooper.

Arrangements have under the care of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424), with a graveside service on Tuesday, September 3, 2019 at 12:00 Noon at Cedar Hill Extension Cemetery.  Remembrances made to the SJRH Dialysis Unit or the Canadian Diabetes Association would be appreciated.
