William Hooper

It is with heavy hearts the family announces the passing of Billy Hooper at the Saint John Regional Hospital on May 30, 2017. Born in 1944 to the late Phyllis (Shea) and Cedric Hooper, Billy was predeceased by the love of his life, and best friend, Anita 'Nini' Hooper (Chouinard), sisters-in-law Martha Butler, Terri Chouinard and his Mother and Father-in Law, Amédée and Helen Chouinard.

Billy will be greatly missed by many people. He was the beloved father of Krista Hartery (Grandbay-Westfield) and Brent (Willow Grove), his 3 grandsons Keegan, Declan and Noah, his best friend of 67 years Denny Luck, brothers-in-law Tom Butler, Peter Chouinard and Vernon Chouinard (Pat), his brother Ronnie and his friend Will, in addition to his nephew's Craig Chouinard (Carmel), Jonathan Chouinard and his nieces Lisa Chouinard, Sarah Chouinard-Horne (Steve) and Jill Butler and Katie Butler.

Billy became an electrician, a job he enjoyed for many years. He worked throughout his career at Hopper's Electric among other companies and then later in life, taught his trade at NBCC. Billy was a brave and gentle soul and a humble man who loved spending time with his family.

Family and friends are welcome to pay their respects at Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, on Thursday, June 1 from 2 pm – 8 pm. The funeral will be held at Fundy Funeral Home on Friday, June 2 at 10:00 am. Interment will be at St. Williams Cemetery, St. Martin's at 1:00 pm with a private reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
