Wilfred "Doo" J. Brideau Obituary

 Surrounded by his loving family Wilfred “Doo” J. Brideau passed peacefully at the Saint John Regional Hospital on November 29, 2018. Born in Saint John February of 1928, he was the son of the late Joseph and Fidelice (Daigle) Brideau. Wilfred was a Iron Worker by trade and worked for Ocean Steel, prior to his retirement he worked for Apex Machine Works. A member of Stella Maris Church and the Father Eugene O’Leary- KOC Council 6595.  Wilfred was an avid Toronto Blue Jays fan, he enjoyed gardening, feeding the birds, TV Bingo, scratch tickets and wood working. A loving devoted husband, father, grandfather “Doo”, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and friend.  Wilfred is survived by his loving children; sons Bob (Elizabeth) and Tom (Cathy) both of Saint John; daughters Cathy Wilcox (Rob) and Judy Beyea (Brian) both of Saint John and Heather LaPointe (Angus) of Gibbons, AB; brother Billy (Shirley) of BC; 15 grandchildren Misty (Justin), Melissa, Marc (Carina), Kerry (Shaun), Amanda (Josh), Deanna, Heath, Austin, Josh (Stephanie), Justin (Breanna), Bob, Joe (Loretta), Dylan and Emilie; 13 great-grandchildren Sarah, Jaden, Ben, Lydia, Haylie, Maddison, Abigail, Jackson, Summer, Kane, Odin, Leo and Adriannah; nieces, nephews and friends. Along with his parents, Wilfred was predeceased by his loving wife of 59 years Iris (Bouchie) Brideau; son Phil; granddaughter Cari sisters Margaret Fulton and Clara Breen.

Resting at Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424) with visitation on Sunday December 2nd from 2:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. With  Knights of Columbus Prayers to begin at 6:00 p.m. Sunday.  Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from Stella Maris Church, 201 Bayside Drive, on Monday December 3rd, 2018 at 12:00 noon. Interment to follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery. Donations in Wilfred’s memory can be made to the Stella Maris Church Building Fund; Loch Lomond Villa Foundation or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
