Wayne Lloyd McKim

Wayne Lloyd McKim passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 6th, 2019 at the Saint John Regional Hospital with family at his side. Born in Saint John, NB on June 26 of 1946, he was the son of the late Lloyd and Olive (McPhee) McKim.  Wayne spent the majority of his career working at the Saint John Shipbuilding Ltd.  He was an active member of the Saint John sports community for the majority of his life; playing or coaching softball, hockey, baseball and horseshoes. He loved playing cribbage and even in his last few months would make it out to play the game he enjoyed. Wayne was an avid fisherman and loved the outdoors, however his true love was deer hunting. Wayne’s passion for being in the woods surrounded by the beauty of the outdoors was a true part of who he was. Wayne is survived by his children Dan McKim of Calgary, AB  Andrew McKim (Anne) of St. John’s , NL and Carol- Ann Nutter (Stephen) of Welsford, NB; eight grandchildren, Alexandria (Patrick), Samantha, Emily, Benjamin, Ashley, Matthew, Jacob and Maxwell; precious great-granddaughter Annelie; brothers Bob McKim (Carol) of Halifax, NS and Randy McKim (Bonnie) of Saint John; nieces and nephews and friends.

We would also like to give a special thanks to all of the doctors, nurses, LPN’s, and medical professionals that have been through this lengthy journey with us.  Our father had the best of care and was treated with amazing compassion and kindness.  We would also like to say thank you to Extra Mural Program-Saint John.  And lastly, Riley’s home Care for the compassion and caring that his homecare workers gave to him. 

Arrangements are under the direction of the Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (506-646-2424). As per Wayne’s request there will no visitation or funeral service. A celebration of Wayne’s life will be held at The Hampton Inn & Suites 51 Fashion Drive in Saint John, NB (506-657-4600) on Wednesday, October 9 from 3-10pm. All of Wayne’s family and friends are invited to attend. In lieu of flowers, donations in Wayne’s memory can be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
