Walter Joseph McLaughlin

It is with broken hearts the family of Walter McLaughlin announce his passing which occurred on Saturday March 23, 2019 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born June 4, 1940 he was the son of the late Thomas and Mary (Clain) McLaughlin. Walter was a skilled carpenter working for Carpenters Union Local 1386 retiring in 2004. He enjoyed walking, fishing, watching sports especially golf. Walter is survived by his loving spouse Annette McGarity of Saint John, daughter Joanne Yorke (Thomas) ; son Peter McLaughlin (Kelly); step-sons Ricky McGarity (Marilyn), Craig McGarity (Tina) and Steve McGarity (Amanda); precious grandchildren Jennifer (Brandon), Michael, Nicholas, Fantasha (Tyler), Danet, Porchess, Stephen, Mackenzie, Emma, Evan and Noah; great-grandchildren Riley, Chloe, Liam, Ace, Axe and Aubree; brothers Francis, David and Gary; sisters Betty McLaughlin and Alice O’Connell; several nieces, nephews and friends. Along with his parents, Walter was predeceased by his brother Thomas and sisters Theresa, Dodie, Catherine and Annie.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424) with visitation on Wednesday March 27, 2019 from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Memorial service will be held from the Fundy Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday March 28th, 2019 at 11:00 a.m., followed by a reception.
