W. Alfred Legere

It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of William Alfred Legere which occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Wednesday, September 27th, 2017.  Born 1949, in Amherst, NS, he was the son of the late Lawrence W. and Josephine (Langille) Legere.  Alfred worked as a security guard for many years.  He enjoyed family vacations, camping, and travelling to Nova Scotia to visit extended family.  Alfred loved to tease and torment all who knew him.  He loved to laugh and had a generous heart.

Alfred is survived by his brother James Legere (Jeannine) of Saint John; sisters Frances Hunter (Bill) of Winnipeg, Carol Knudson of Saint John, Lorilee Hall (Ross) of Musquash; sister-in-law Rosemary Legere of Saint John; as well as many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.  Besides his parents, Alfred was predeceased by his brother Lawrence Henry Legere.      

The family will receive visitors in the foyer of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church on Gondola Point Road in Rothesay between 10-11am. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Father J. Stanislas Paulin on Wednesday, October 4th at 11 am, followed by burial at St. Joseph’s Cemetery.  Donations in memory of Alfred may be made to the Our Lady of Perpetual Help Building Fund or the charity of the donor’s choice.
