Suzanne Patricia (nee Fox) Cronk

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Suzanne Patricia Cronk (nee Fox) on August 4th 2018 at Dartmouth General Hospital. Suzanne left peacefully surrounded by loved ones. She was born in Saint John on May 04, 1936. After graduating from the Saint John Vocational School at the head of her class she began her career at Teed, Palmer and O’Connell law firm and worked there until the birth of her second child. Her husband’s employment with International Harvester Ltd. caused the family to be transferred to Bathurst, NB, St. John’s, NFLD, and Dartmouth, NS and for those years she stayed home to be with her four children.

With another transfer to North Bay ON, she resumed work at the courthouse there working for the Examiner for Discovery and then for the Federal Government at the military base in North Bay. On moving to Chatham ON, she worked for the Probation Office of the Ontario Provincial Government. Additional moves to Moncton, NB and again to Dartmouth NS saw her excel at several courses she had taken at Mount St. Vincent University before returning to work with the Bedford Oceanographic Institute.

She is survived by her four children, Jean-Ann Goodwin (Mike Poole),Barbara Catherine Cronk (Michael Dennis), Robert Glenn Cronk and Thomas William Cronk. She leaves seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren, who all had a special place in her heart and she will be forever cherished. Suzanne is also survived by her sister Sandra Bishop (Don Bishop) and her sister-in-law Nancy Leroy (Jack Leroy). She was predeceased by her husband Robert William Cronk and her sisters Barbara and Marjorie.

There has been a Memorial Service which was held at the Woodlawn United Church on August 10th in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia with  the Reverend Mary Lynne Whyte officiating. 

There will be a Graveside Service with Reverend John Fraser at Fern Hill Cemetery in Saint John, New Brunswick on September 25th, at 2:00 PM.  There will be a Reception held after the Graveside Service at the Fundy Funeral Home Reception Center. 

In loving memory of a women who was an inspiration to many, a teacher, guide, and mentor to all who knew and loved her.
