Shirley Marie Milne

The death of Shirley Marie Milne, loving wife of the late Arthur James Milne, occurred peacefully on Friday September 30, 2016 at Kings Way Care Centre. Born on August 2, 1929 in Saint John, she was the daughter of the late Harold and Muriel (MacAllister) Jones. Shirley lived for many years in the Fair Vale area and spent the last 30 years in Upper Golden Grove. Shirley was a devoted wife, mother, sister, grandmother and great-grandmother. She took great pleasure in spending time with her family.  Her pastimes included bowling, gardening, baking, dancing with her husband, and swimming at her summer cottage. She is survived by her sons Robert (Glenda) Milne of Rothesay and Arthur (Claire) Milne of Upper Golden Grove;  daughter Jo Ann (John) Thorne of Salisbury; brother Fred (Helen) Jones; sisters Gladys Wilson, Florence Hackers, Georgie Knight and Barbara Seeley; grandchildren Lindsay, Robert, Tina, Angela, Tyson, Alicia, Megan and Shannon; 9 great-grandchildren; many cousins, nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her brother Allison Jones and sister Dora Page.

Arrangements are under the direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road with visitation being held on Thursday October 6, 2016 at 2 pm to 4 pm and 6 pm to 8 pm. A memorial service will be held at Fundy Funeral Home Chapel on Friday October 7, 2016 at 11am.  Interment will take place in Ocean View Memorial Gardens. The family would appreciate donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or the Parkinson’s Society.
