It is with heavy hearts the family of Ronald Anthony Campbell, husband of Margaret (Driscoll) Campbell, announces his passing which occurred on Sunday, December 16, 2018 at the Saint John Regional Hospital, surrounded by his family. Born in Saint John, NB on December 1, 1951 he was the son of the late John Duncan and Alice Mary (Bastarache) Campbell. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his brothers Paul (Gloria) and Frank (Sharon Hosford); sisters Margaret Hull (John), Annie Hull and Rose Campbell.
Ronald worked as a Welder for the Saint John Shipbuilding for 25 years, retiring in 2000. He was a member of the Navy League of Canada (Sea Cadets), Local 3 Shipyard Union and the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 69. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing darts and trailering at Wally’s Happy Campers Campground. Ronald had a heart transplant in 2011 at the QEII Hospital, Halifax, NS.

In addition to his loving wife of 38 years, Margaret, he is survived by his daughters Amanda Lea Campbell and Rhonda Anne Campbell (Michael Creamer); cherished grandchildren Jazmyn, Roxanne and Kesler; sisters Lada Beckingham (Ronald) and Elizabeth Tracey (Brian); feline companion Ghetto; numerous nieces and nephews.
Following cremation, visitations will be held from Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John, NB (646-2424) on Wednesday, December 19 from 11am – 1pm with a Memorial Service to be held in the funeral home chapel at 1pm. Interment will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery. Remembrances in memory of Ronald may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
