John Ronald “Ron” Mallett passed away at Bobby’s Hospice on October 2nd, 2019 with his loving family at his side, after a courageous battle with Cancer. Born November 27th, 1938, in Kensington, PEI, he was the son of the late Henry and Rose (Veno) Mallett.
Ron was a pipefitter/welder by trade and worked construction until he started his own company Ready Arc Welding and Fab in 1985. Ron and Mary owned and operated this company until 2000 when they sold the business and retired. They enjoyed many trips in their motor home but spent their summers camping in Ron’s home province of PEI. Ron was a member of the Plumbers and Pipe Fitters Union Local 213, International Brotherhood of Boiler Makers Lodge 73 and also belonged to the Knights of Columbus Council 8364. Ron had many interests but what gave him the greatest joy was spending time with his family, especially family dinners.
Ron is survived by his loving and devoted wife Mary (Boucher) of 59 years; sons Stephen Mallett (Faye), Russell Mallett (Donna); daughter Judy Duplisea (Bob); grandchildren Joseph (Sarah), Cheryl (Ralph), Michael (Desiree), Nicole MacNeil (Lukas), Natalie Duplisea (Nick); great granddaughters Amelia, Claire and soon to be Sophie; brothers George and Bill; sisters Jean Kelly, Vivian MacAndrew and Elizabeth Noonan. Besides his parents, Ron was predeceased by his sisters Rita Lamb and Rosella Roberts and nephew Glen Mallett.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt and sincere thank you to Extra Mural, SJRH Palliative Care Team and Bobby’s Hospice for their compassion, care and support.
