Robin Elliott Whitenect Obituary

With heavy hearts the family announces the passing of Robin Brian Elliott Whitenect which occurred on Friday, May 31st, 2019 at the Saint John Regional Hospital.  Born August 7th, 1957, in Saint John, he was the son of the late Edward “Buster” and Doris (Spellman) Whitenect.  Robin grew up in Saint John and his life led him to many places within Canada.  He returned to the Maritimes and took Moncton as his home.  Robin enjoyed fishing, reading, cooking and giving his time to the less fortunate through the Salvation Army. 

Robin leaves behind his sisters Dawn “Lanie” Breau (Robert), Lori Miller (Stephen); brothers Denny McCoy (Edie), Wayne McCoy (Roseanne); brothers-in-law Wilmot Sewell and Jamie Moyer;  several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and his childhood best friend and brother John Beal (Jackie).  Besides his parents, Robin was predeceased by his sisters Bonnie Moyer, Gail Sewell and great nephew Devan Breau.

Arrangements are under the direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424) with visitation being held on Tuesday, June 4th from 10:30 till 11:30 a.m.  A Memorial Service will follow at 11:30 a.m. in the chapel. Interment will take place at Cedar Hill Cemetery.  Donations in memory of Robin may be made to the Salvation Army, SJRH Palliative Care Unit or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
