Robert B. Mawhinney

It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Robert Barry Mawhinney which occurred on Friday, December 1st, 2017 at the Saint John Regional Hospital.  Born 1938, in Charlotte County, NB, he was the son of the late Weldon and Phyllis (Hanson) Mawhinney.  Barry worked as a nurses orderly at the Saint John Regional Hospital for many years.  He was a Lay Reader at All Saints Anglican Church.  He enjoyed playing cards and was very active in his community.

Barry is survived by his son Robert Mawhinney (Ginger) of Thunderbay, ON; brother Arnold Mawhinney of Saint John; brother-in-law Bob Daley of Saint John; as well as several nieces, nephews and friends.  Besides his parents, Barry was predeceased by his wife Dorothy, brother Victor and sister Betty.

Arrangements are under the direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424) with visitation being held on Monday, December 4th from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m.  A Funeral Service will take place from the Fundy Funeral Home chapel on Tuesday, December 5th at 2 p.m. followed by an interment at Maces Bay Cemetery.  Donations in memory of Barry may be made to the Canadian Mental Health Association or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
