Reginald "Reg" Robson

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Reginald (Reg) “Papa” Shamper Robson, announces his unexpected passing on Thursday January 9, 2020 at the Saint John Regional Hospital, following a brief illness. He was born on October 5, 1946 in Saint John, N.B. to the late Millard and Dorothy (Shamper) Robson.

Reg began his working career at IGA in Martinon, later moving on to Sobeys as produce manager, Giroux Enterprises and finally became the owner/operator of Reg Robson Backhoeing and Bulldozing until his retirement.

He loved to race snowmobiles with his brother Barry and had a passion for drag racing his “Acadian”. Reg was a devoted partner, son, brother, stepfather, father-in-law, papa and friend and will be deeply missed.

He is survived by his loving companion Colleen Alderman of Saint John;  children Bruce (Kathy) Roberts and Carrie (Tom) Bass both of Quispamsis; siblings Barbara (Bill) Thomson and Barry (Christine) Robson both of Saint John; grandchildren Jamie, Stacy (Pat) and Taylor Roberts and Cody Loeman; 5 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law Mary Lou (Keith) McNulty; several nieces and nephews; Colleen's daughters Jaclyn and Sherri. Papa will also be greatly missed by his Grandpuppy Maggie Mae.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife Carol Roberts.

Special thanks to Dr. John Mowatt, Dr. Stephen Smith, Dr. Mark Tutschka and his amazing team in SICU at the SJRH. We would also like to thank his special nurse friend, Linda White for always looking out for him.

Resting at Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road on Tuesday January 14, 2020 from 2-8 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held at Fundy Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday January 15, 2020 at 11 a.m. Private family interment will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to “The Give” SJRH or the charity of one's choice.
