Reginald Bronislaus Dencer

It is with sadness that the family announce the passing of Reginald Dencer of Saint John, who passed away on Tuesday July 11 th at the Saint John Regional Hospital after a
brief illness. Born in Edmonton, AB he was the son of the late Bronislaus Dencer & Katrazyna Sarnecki. Reginald was a brilliant man, Chemist and teacher. He had bachelor and masters degrees in Chemistry and Education from the University of Alberta where he also played varsity football.Reg was very passionate about science, health and politics and kept himself informed of the latest research and developments. Reginald was a lifelong reader, football fan, and classical music enthusiast. In later life he indulged a passion for drawing and painting. Above all, he was devoted to his daughters and grandchildren and loved to spend time with them in conversation over a cup of coffee.He is survived by his two loving daughters Eloise Jones (Larry) of Moncton and Mary Anne Milley of Quispamsis; precious grandchildren David Milley, Sean Milley, Ben Milley and Karina May; special niece Laura Bittner of Edmonton; nephew Jason Bittner of USA; and first wife and friend, Carmelita McCarthy. Besides his parents, Reg was predeceased by his second wife Helen Marie Beyea; brother Richard Dencer and sister Cecilia Bittner.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424). Funeral mass will be held from St. Pius X , 316 Somerset Street, on Monday July 17 th at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery. Donations in Reg’s memory can be made to the Saint John Community Autism Centre.

The family would like to take this opportunity to thank the staff of A.R. Santos Special Care Home, and the doctors and nurses of the MICU, for the wonderful care given to Reg. Your kindness and compassion will never be forgotten.
