Raymond King Obituary

It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Raymond Scott King which occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Tuesday, October 9th, 2018.  Born 1919, in Bath, ME, he was the son of the late William Joseph and Della (Pearson) King.  Raymond served in the Army and was a member of the Cape Breton Highlanders during World War II.  He was part of the forces that liberated Holland.  Raymond worked as a carpenter throughout his career and loved wood carving. 

Raymond is survived by his loving and devoted wife Mildred (Collins) of 68 years; son Kevin King (Cynthia) of Saint John; grandchildren Katelyn Walsh (Jeff), Katrina King and Sawyer King; sister Clara Wilson of Barrie, ON; as well as several nieces, nephews and friends.  Besides his parents, Raymond was predeceased by his sisters Margaret, Gladys and Cecelia and brothers William, Jackie, Joseph and Ernest.

Arrangements are under the direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424) with visitation being held on Sunday, October 14th from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m.  A Tribute to a Veteran Service will begin at 7 p.m.  A Funeral Service will take place at the Fundy Funeral Home chapel on Monday, October 15th at 11 a.m. followed by an interment at St. Joseph’s Cemetery.  Donations in memory of Raymond may be made to the Children’s Wish Foundation or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
