It is with great sadness that the family of Peter Miller announces his peaceful passing on March 9. He was a warrior who battled with a very rare disease called Stiff Person Syndrome for 33 years, 20 of which they had no diagnosis. Son of Susan (McCormick) Miller and James Henry Miller, brother of Andrew and Sean and sister Colleen (Ben) Cosman. Beloved uncle of Mackenzie, Lia, Zackary, Ciaran, Josh, Finn and Xander. He was predeceased by nephews Lucas and Ryan Miller,  Grandparents Charles and Marion (Enslow) McCormick, and Harold and Kathleen (Parks) Miller; Aunts Michelle Hubbard, Judy Lockhart, Kathleen Barry and Cecily McCormick, and Uncles William and David McCormick, as well as cousins Kevin McCormick, David Barrie, Billy McCormick and Joey Faubert. Survived by loving aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

We were so grateful for every moment we got to spend with him. He inspired us daily with his strength and positivity. Peter always had time for everyone and listened and helped in any way he could. He graduated from Saint Malachy’s High School and UNBSJ with a degree in Political Science and was a Sprinter on the Saint John and New Brunswick Track Teams. He competed nationally and ran with Donovan Bailey and Bruny Surin and other Olympic greats. He also enjoyed his home visits by NHL Legends Guy Lafleur, Ray Bourque and Stephane Richer. Peter worked for Wyndham Worldwide where he achieved their Top Employee “SuperStar” honour several times and was frequently rewarded with bonuses for his efforts in Great Customer Service. He was an avid Boston Red Sox and Montreal Canadian Fan. Many Thanks to Extra Mural Nurses for their awesome care of Peter as well as Dr. Luan Le and Dr. R. Kuriacose and staff of 3DS of the Saint John Regional Hospital.

Resting at Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John (646-2424) with visitation on Tuesday from 2-8 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from Holy Redeemer Parish, 316 Somerset Street on Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. Interment will take place at St. Augustine’s Cemetery at a later date.
