It is with heavy hearts, the family of Percy Thomas Leslie Jr. announces his passing which occurred on Friday, August 10, 2018, at the Saint John Regional Hospital, with his family at his side. Born in Saint John on January 7, 1948 he was the son of the late Percy Thomas Sr. and Mary Elizabeth (Brown) Leslie. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his brothers Frank and Barry and his best friend Jerome Scott.
Percy worked as a labourer for many years, before owning and operating his own taxi Mr. P Taxi. He was a member of the former Local 1278 now local 900. He enjoyed hunting, playing cribbage and spending time with his family.
He is survived by the love of his life Patsy (Leslie) Woods and their daughters Enid Johnson (Dave Murphy), Denise Adams and Amazine Leslie, as well as his daughter Kiesha Doucette; his grandchildren Lexie Johnson, Taylor Murphy, and Hailey and Quinn Adams; great granddaughter Isabella Leslie Thomas; son-in-law Keith Adams; his siblings Agnes Roche (Real Couillard), Amazine Leslie-Scott, Stephen Leslie (Ghislaine), Larry Leslie, Judith Ann Leslie, Allison Reid Leslie (Irena) and Jean MacKenzie (Andy); special niece Laurie Gardner; several nieces and nephews.
Following cremation, visitations will be held from Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John (646-2424) on Wednesday, August 15 from 2 to 8 p.m. A memorial service will be held from Fundy Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, August 16 at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, remembrances in memory of Percy may be made to the Romero House Soup Kitchen.
