Patricia Ellen Kennedy

It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Patricia Ellen Kennedy on August 7, 2019 at the Saint John Regional Hospital after a brief illness.  Patricia (Pat, Patsy) was born in 1951 and a lifelong resident of Saint John.

She was the daughter of the late Patrick and Ellen Kennedy.  She is survived by her most beloved and precious daughters, Amanda (Anthony) Kotsabasakis and Nola (Adam) Hicks; her grandchildren, Sophie and Tony; brothers, Paul (Janice) Kennedy, Tim (Lynn) Kennedy; sisters, Anne Marie (Sean) Kelly and Theresa Gifford; and several nieces and nephews who loved spending time with her.

Patricia loved her family dearly and will be missed by her many dear friends.  Pat was everyone’s go to person for loving advice and sound guidance.  She will be remembered for her kindness, wonderful sense of humor and overall pleasant demeanour.  She was a classy beautiful woman who could put herself together on a dime and exude elegance and style wherever she went.  She loved to people watch during her many walks around the city center and always had a smile on her face.  She particularly enjoyed chatting with the passengers of the many cruise ships that would be docked next to her home. 

Although in the hospital for just a short time, sincere gratitude is extended to the caring and professional doctors and nurses at the Palliative Care Unit at the Saint John Regional Hospital.  A very special thank you to Doctor Caines, who was a tremendous source of comfort, guidance and direction for her. 

Arrangements are under the direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424) where visitation will be held on Monday from 6-8pm.   A funeral liturgy will be held on Tuesday, August 13, 2019 at 10am from the Fundy Funeral Home Chapel, with a private interment to follow.  Memorial donations in Patricia’s memory to the Palliative Care Unit or to the charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by her family.
