Ovide Joseph Robichaud

In the arms of the angels, he was ever so gently lifted up to the Lord. The Lord smiled and said no suffering shall you feel. Welcome to my kingdom. Ovide Joseph Robichaud, husband to Evelyne (Noel) was delivered to the Lord on Friday, September 7, 2018 at Bobby’s Hospice. He was the son of the late Anthime and Helene Robichaud, born October 16, 1930 in Pokemouche, NB. In addition to his loving wife of 63 years, Evelyne, he leaves behind daughters Lina (Mick McPhee), Donna Kent, Anne-Marie (Craig McDermott), Nicole Robichaud (Shawn Kindred). Grandchildren; Dominic, Alexandre, Danielle, Gabe, Melissa, Kyle, Conner, David, Matthew, Alex, Nicholas and Michael. Siblings; Laurine Boudreau, Merilda Richard, Lauzia LeBreton, Herve & Leo. As well as many nieces and nephews.

During his life he worked as a licensed painter, crack filler, longshoreman and woodsman. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 6770 and 4th degree Assembly 1940. He was an avid bowler at the Bowlarama.

He will always be remembered for his infectious smile and playful sense of humour.

He is predeceased by his parents, granddaughter Katelyn Marie, son-in-law Peter Kent, sisters Edith Boudreau & Dorina Keary, Stella, Diana, Aurore and Eva.

The family would like to express sincere gratitude to the doctors and nursing staff of the Extra Mural, Palliative Care Unit SJRH, and Bobby’s Hospice.

Resting at Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John (646-2424) on Monday, September 10 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from Our Lady of Assumption Church, 360 Dufferin Row, Saint John on Tuesday, September 11, 2018 at 12 noon. Interment will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery. Remembrances in memory of Ovide may be made to the MS Society or Bobby’s Hospice.
