Norman Patrick Casey, son of the late Gilbert Casey and Philomene Goguen, passed peacefully surrounded by his loving family at Ridgewood Veteran’s Wing on Thursday, November 28 , 2019.
He is survived by his wife of 73 years, Eleanor (Mitchell); four sons, Norman (Donna) of Brantford, Ontario, Donald, Brian, Larry (Claudette) all of Saint John, and one daughter, Holly Wood (Mac Legere) of St. Martins, one sister, Yvonne Nordstrom of St Stephen, nine grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.
A lifelong resident of Saint John, born on May 30, 1924, he volunteered and served with the Carleton-York Regiment in World War II, seeing action in Italy, Sicily, France, Belgium, Holland and Germany.
Resting at the Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424) , visitation hours will be held on Monday, December 2, 2019 between 2-4 and 6-8 PM with a Tribute to a Veteran Service beginning at 7 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, December 3rd at 11 AM from St. Ann’s Catholic Church, followed by interment at St. Josephs Cemetery and a reception at the Fundy Funeral Home.
