It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Noreen Alma Martin, which occurred at Birch House, Loch Lomond Villa on Tuesday January 21, 2020. Born July 8, 1926 in Sunny Corner, NB she was the daughter of the late William Henry and Annie Pearl (Nowlan) Porter.
Predeceased by Noreen was her husband of 69 years, Joseph Reginald Martin, her son David William Martin and her siblings Mona, John, William, Josie, Helen and Clair.
Noreen and Reg raised their children in Brantford, ON and later returned to the Maritimes to retire.
Noreen enjoyed the simple things in life, spending time with friends and family. Her passion for baking was a well-known fact to all, when not baking Noreen could always be found working in her gardens.
She is survived by her sons Gerald (Lynda) of Kingston, Paul (Stephanie) of Grand Bay-Westfield and Donald (Michele) of Brantford, ON; daughter-in-law Lois of London, ON; brother Frank Porter of Nova Scotia; sister Dianne Porter of Saint John; grandchildren Christopher, Gregory, Shasta, Jason, Ryan and Bradley; 14 great-grandchildren; several cousins, nieces and nephews.
Arrangements are under the direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Rd. Following cremation, a Memorial Service will be held at Fundy Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday January 28, 2020 at 1 p.m. Interment will be held in Black River Cemetery in Miramichi at a later date. Donations in her memory may be made to the Loch Lomond Villa Foundation or the charity of one's choice.
