It is with heavy hearts the family of Nerea Winifred (Foster) Moore, wife of the late R. Earle Moore, announces her peaceful passing on June 15, 2018 at the Church of St. John & St. Stephen Nursing Home. She was born on May 19, 1927 to the late Walter and Luella (Bacon) Foster.
Nerea was a very sweet, kind and faithful woman. She graduated from the Saint John School of Nursing in 1948, working at the Saint John General Hospital for over 30 years before retiring and becoming a lifetime member of the Saint John General Hospital Alumni. She was very active in her faith and was a lifetime member of the Presbyterian Church, and enjoyed singing in several local choirs over the years. She was a member of the St. Matthews Choir for over 60 years and a volunteer with the Black River United Church. She was part of the Saint John Choral Society and the Masters’ Singers. She was the consummate hostess, always ensuring that anyone who came by had a nice cup of tea or one of her delicious baked goods. Her faith community, her Gardner Creek community, and her loving family will miss her dearly.
She is survived by her son Brian (Kathleen), grandchildren; Susan (Brian) Train, Robert (Krista) Moore, great grandchildren; Colby, Taylor, Mitchell and Russell, as well as her sisters; Shirley Shelley and Lois (George) Lemmon, brothers; Lloyd (Rosalind) and Carl (Barbara) and several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her brothers Mayes, Gregory and Douglas Foster and sisters Dorothy Weatherhead and Norma Brown.
Nerea’s family would like to take this opportunity to thank the doctors, nurses and staff of Church of St. John & St. Stephen Nursing Home for the compassionate care they provided to her during her stay there. Your kindness to her is very much appreciated.
