With sadness but appreciation for a long life, well lived, the family of Murray Weldon Gillcrist announce his passing at Ridgewood Veterans Wing, one day before his 100th birthday on July 3, 2018.  He was born in St. Martins, NB to the late Graydon and Dora (Brown) Gillcrist and was the loving husband to the late Leona (Langille) Gillcrist.

He was a member of the Twin Seas Trailer Club which allowed he and his wife to travel anywhere you could drive to.  He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #53 and was proud to have served his country.  He was a proud man, who stood strong and tall, lived spontaneously, loved to cook and watch curling and baseball, loved to tinker and fix things, but above all, he just loved to spend time with  his family.  He was a pillar of his family, and took great pride in the fact that he had such a large family.   Murray put family first and his adoring grandchildren and great grandchildren and great great grandchildren will never forget him.

In addition to his parents and wife Leona, he was predeceased by his brothers; Roy, Clayton, Harvey, Douglas and Lawrence, sisters Helen and Dorothy, sisters-in-law Freida, Marcella and Alma Gillcrist and brothers-in-law; Stanley, Greg, Frank, Doug, Aubrey and John.
