Michael Wayne Davis

With heavy hearts we announce the passing of our brother, Michael Wayne Davis, on June 26, 2017 at the Saint John Regional Hospital.  Michael was born on August 28, 1954 in Saint John to the late Roy and Barbara (Walton) Davis.

Micheal was a very loving and fun guy.  He had a great personality and his family will always remember how much he loved to dance.  He could get the room going and when he started to laugh, you couldn’t help but join in; his laugh was infectious.   During the time he spent in the hospital, while his vocabulary could sometimes be “colorful”, his personality came through and the staff grew to care for him immensely.  He was a very kind and loving man and he will be deeply missed. 

He is survived by his five sisters; Kathy (Tim) Latter, Mary (Stephen) Fitzpatrick, Barbara (Stephen) Henderson, Judy Makenney and Janet Griffin, his aunt Shoan Meredith as well as several nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by his parents. 

Michael’s family would like to take this opportunity to thank the doctors and nurses and staff of 4BN for the care and compassion they showed to Michael during his lengthy time there.  As well, they want to express their gratitude to the nurses and doctors of the Palliative Care Unit for their incredible kindness and wonderful care that they provided to Michael during the last of his living days. 

Arrangements are under the care and direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424).  There will be no visitation and a private family service has already taken place.  In lieu of flowers, donations made to the Saint John Regional Hospital Foundation, the Palliative Care Unit, or to the charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated.
