With heavy hearts, the family of Maurice Daley announces his passing, which occurred on February 22nd, 2018 at St. Joseph’s Hospital, surrounded by his family. Maurice was born in Saint John on November 26, 1933; a son of the late Harry and Mary Daley, and husband of 55 years of Elizabeth “Betty” (Fitzpatrick) Daley. Maurice retired from the Works Department with the City of Saint John, after a 30 year career, and enjoyed hunting, and fishing. Moe was loved by all who knew him; when he walked into a room, everyone smiled. Along with his wife Betty, Maurice is survived by his son Maurice (Lindsay), daughter Doreen (Terry), sisters Clare Cooper, Bernice Mollins and Agnes Madore, grandchildren Keith, Daniel, Conor, Charlotte (“Charlie”), Chelsea, chosen granddaughter Callie, great-grandson Landen, as well as many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Maurice was pre-deceased by his brothers Fred, Art, Harry, sisters Gertrude Burnside, Marion Griffin, and step-daughter Jeannie Graves. Moe’s family would like to thank all of the staff of the 7th floor at St. Joseph’s Hospital; they truly treated him like family. Resting at Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John (646-2424) with visitation on Monday from 2-4 and 6-8. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 10:00am, from the Fundy Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will take place at St. Joseph’s Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances to the Saint John SPCA – Animal Rescue would be greatly appreciated by the family.
