Mary Louise Lois (Comeau) Gray

It is with heavy hearts the family of Mary Louise Lois Gray (Comeau) announce her passing at the Saint John Regional Hospital on May 22, 2018 at the age of 70 after a long illness.  Mary was born in Saint John on January 28, 1948 to the late Louis and Mary Comeau.

Mary worked as a traffic controller within the construction industry for many years, working in food services prior to that.  She was a wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, who worked hard, spoke her mind always, showed strength and independence and resiliency all through her life and instilled those qualities in her children.  She was a doting grandmother to Daniel who had the privilege to live with her and be completely spoiled rotten as well as teased mercilessly by her.  She will be missed.

She is survived by her son Louis Mercer (Wendy Sears), daughters; Mary Mellor (Richard), Christina McCloskey (Travis Haley), Elisa Ehrhardt (Geoff) and Shera Gray (Billy Crowe), several grandchildren and great grandchildren, sister Joanne Mattson, along with several nieces, nephews and cousins and her fur baby Wizard.  In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Lewis Gray and her partner Lorraine Gray.

Arrangements are entrusted to Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424).  Mary was selfless and chose to donate her body to science.  Her family will be holding a Celebration of her Life on Saturday, June 9, 2018 at 2pm from the Fundy Funeral Home Reception Centre to honor her memory.  In lieu of flowers, donations made in Mary’s name to the SPCA Animal Rescue League, Canadian Cancer Society, Palliative Care Unit at the Regional Hospital or to the charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by her family.
