Durant, Mary Anna, of Saint John, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on July 28, 2017 following a lengthy illness. Born on May 14, 1945 in Moncton, she was the daughter of the late Raymond and Elizabeth (Maillet) Duffy.
Mary retired from Eddie Bauer in Saint John, having also worked at D'Allairds and Walters Jewellers for many years. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and was a member of the Red Rockin’ Robins Red Hatters. She loved bowling, playing cards, bird watching, yoga and reading.
She will be sadly missed by her daughters; Denise Durant (Aron Shute) of Vancouver, Nicole (Terry) Mollins of Shediac and Monique Durant (Gareth Lavery) of Vancouver, her sister Carol Duffy of Toronto, and her grandchildren Marie Alex and Andie Elizabeth. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her sister Helen Duffy.
The family invites relatives and friends to Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424) on Thursday August 3, 2017 from 12:30pm to 4:30pm. The family will host a reception at Mary’s home, 22 Crescent Avenue, from 5pm to 8pm. Following cremation, a family interment will take place at Chartersville Cemetery in Dieppe.
