Mary Avery Obituary

Mary Edith Avery of Beaver Harbour NB, born in Blacks Harbour, NB on September 15th 1948, passed peacefully at the Saint John Regional Hospital on January 15th 2019. She was the daughter of the late Clarence and Ethel Cooke.

A loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother, she is survived by one daughter, Kelly (Kevin) Hanley of Pennfield NB, and one son Seth Avery of Beaver Harbour NB. Grandsons Keith (Danielle) Hanley of Pennfield NB and Kaleb Hanley of Campbell River BC. Great grandchildren Kinnon and Rowan. One brother, Eugene (Thelma) Cooke of Back Bay. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her brother Elmer (Lottie) Cooke.

Mary was a gentle person with the kindest heart. Her family was everything to her, especially her great grandchildren. They always gave her the greatest joy. She loved getting the family together for BBQ's on her beloved deck. She was happy enjoying her swing, admiring her flowers, and watching the hummingbirds. She had a great sense of humor and loved to laugh. She had the biggest smile and the brightest blue eyes. In her final years she had excellent and loving care provided by Able Homecare. They were like another family to her. Mary's family would like to thank all that took such good care of her, and the team at the palliative care unit of the Saint John Regional Hospital. "You all were very kind and caring to our mum, thank you."
Mary will be cremated, and visitation with the family will be held at the Pennfield Baptist Church on Saturday January 19 from 1 to 3 pm, with a memorial service to follow at 3:30 PM. Donations to the Palliative Care Unit at the Saint John Regional Hospital would be appreciated by the family.
