Martha E. Beckingham

It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Martha Evelyn (Goss) Beckingham which occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Wednesday, July 18th, 2018.  Born 1941, in Saint John, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Thelma (Archilles) Goss.  Martha enjoyed gardening, travelling and had a great love of animals. She was caring, generous and kind-hearted, always putting everyone else first before herself. 

Martha is survived by her sons Kevin, Douglas and Timothy Beckingham all of Saint John; daughters Kathy Beckingham (Joe Landry), Patricia McLaughlin and her chosen daughter Cathy Beckingham (Paul) all of Saint John; daughter-in-law Carol Ann Haggerty of Saint John; brothers Peter Goss (Carol) and Donald Goss of Saint John; brothers-in-law Ronald Beckingham (Lada), Terry Hopey (Lynn), Brian Beckingham (Carol), Donnie Beckingham (Murielle) all of Saint John and Larry Beckingham (Joan) of Ontario; sister-in-law Christine Beckingham of Saint John; good friend Janet Palmer of Saint John; grandchildren Erin (Stuart), Matthew, Shaun, Keith, Alex, Olivia; great grandchildren Aiden, Rhylee, Lily; as well as several nieces, nephews and friends.  Besides her parents, Martha was predeceased by her husband Patrick.

Arrangements are under the direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424) with visitation being held on Thursday, July 19th from 2 to 8 p.m.  A funeral service will take place at the Fundy Funeral Home chapel on Friday, July 20th at 2 p.m. followed by an interment at St. Joseph’s Cemetery.  Donations in memory of Martha may be made to the SPCA-Animal Rescue, Heart & Stroke Foundation of New Brunswick or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
